Online Tools To Save You Massive Amounts of Time Engaging New Prospects

I don’t have time to be on the internet…

I hear this statement all of the time from my fellow beauty professionals. I get it. Oftentimes we are caught up in our work that keeps us busy sometimes from sun up to sun down. We are tired from a long day at work and the last thing we want to do is come home and work online to engage with current clients as well as new potential prospects. However, we have to realize that social media and having an online presence is vital for having new customers coming through our doors in today’s business.

Things have change tremendously from when I first started in the beauty industry 24+ years ago. Engaging with customers primarily came through word of mouth, business cards and fliers. Not so much today. Building relationship is the new normal, and that is typically done online nowadays. Potential customers are going online and googling you to check you out. If you do not have an online presence in some way, they may simply move on to the next business that does.

Here are 3 tips to stay engaged with your current customers as well as your potential prospects without spending a ton of time doing so.

  • Have a website. if you do not have a website up, you are doing yourself a disservice in a BIG way. When I say people will google you, they are first looking for a website that they can go and check you out. Your website is today’s term for “virtual resume”. Potential clients will look over your virtual resume and decide from that point if they want to do business with you. Not only is it vital to have a website, but your message has to be extremely clear as to who you are, who your target audience is, and how you can solve a problem that they have.
  • Have a social media presence. There are a ton of social media platforms out there. You have to pick the ones that your particular audience hangs out in. Once you discover where they hang out, you can engage them through your social media platform.

Now I know that there are a few audiences that do not hang out online at all. It is up to you, the beauty professional, to figure out how to engage that particular audience so that they get the most from you as well as an online audience would.

Utilize online scheduling tools. They will save you time and effort but will still keep you engaged with your clients or potential clients. Time saving online tools that I recommend for beauty professionals are:

  • Online Booking. Using a booking system will allow clients to schedule their own appointments as well as see your work and your pricing. This gives them the choice of whether or not they are a good fit for your services. ***Three online booking tools that you can research are Schedulicity, StyleSeat, and Vagaro.
  • Social Media Management Tools. These tools will save you time from being on social media all day. Social media management tools will schedule and post all of your posts for you. This will save you hours of time spent if you did it yourself. There are several to pick from. Some have free memberships as well as paid, depending on your needs. The top three you can research are HootSuite, Edgar, and Buffer.

Wishing you the best with online success!
